Cox Correspondences has filed a claim to disrupt Tempe's Google Fiber partnership for lightning-fast Internet connection.
According to The Link Titan By excluding Google Fiber from requirements that other link administrators must follow, Tempe violated federal law.
"Tempe has disregarded government law on the grounds that while both Cox and Google Fiber give 'link administration' over a 'link framework', just Cox is liable to regulation as a link administrator," the lawsuit stated. The official recording seeks a permanent injunction to halt the city's Google Fiber agreement.
The group that fights Tempe overturned an order that allowed the city to order Google Fiber as a "feature permit supplier" in order to get around federal and state link regulations back in December 2014.
